What are the regulations for swimming on Giannutri?

À Giannutri, you can swim freely on Cala Maestra and at Cala dello Spalmatoio, as well as in the marine areas classified as zone 2.

If you land on the island, the Park access ticket costs 2.50 € per person ; it is generally included in the ticket for the line boats or excursions. From the trail connecting the two coves, you can move around without a guide. To explore other land areas, access is limited to authorized trails and requires a Park guide. Finally, if you come with your own boat, the navigation and anchoring rules also depend on the marine zoning: check the current instructions before setting off. Services on the island are limited and mostly seasonal, so plan for water, sun protection and everything you need for your swim.

On Giannutri, the charm lies precisely in this wild stopover feel: it is better to enjoy the swim without expecting the comfort of a large seaside resort.
