When does the market in Grosseto take place?

The weekly market of Grosseto takes place on Thursday morning, generally from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm, around piazza De Maria. You will find food stalls there, but also non-food stands: so it is not exclusively a farmers' market. For local products, there are also dedicated agricultural markets, on Thursday and Saturday mornings.

These direct-sale markets are held on non-public holidays, from 7 am to 1:30 pm : on Thursdays, at viale Repubblica Dominicana and at piazza Donatello (side viale Giotto); on Saturday, at viale Repubblica Dominicana. These locations are authorized until December 31, 2026, but public holidays or municipal changes may modify the organization. To buy agricultural products from the region, therefore favor these markets rather than the general market. You can also check my page on Grosseto to prepare your visit.

In Grosseto, choose your market according to your mood: stroll among the stalls or go hunting for local flavors — the little wild boar, for its part, doesn't mix the two!
