When does the Scottiglia sagra take place in Pescina?

The Sagra della Scottiglia usually takes place in the first half of August, around the August 10, Saint Lawrence's Day, in Pescina, a hamlet of the municipality of Seggiano. In 2026, it was held from August 8 to 13 ; this edition has therefore passed. The dates of the next edition are not yet confirmed.

The stands opened at 7:30 pm every evening in 2026, with also a lunch service on August 10. The festival is dedicated to the scottiglia, a slow-cooked preparation of meats and vegetables, served with bread. If you plan to go next year, check the dates shortly before your stay: they may vary from one year to the next. Pescina is located in the area of the Monte Amiata, in the province of Grosseto; it is best to plan on a car, as the available information does not allow you to rely on convenient public transport connections in the evening.

In Pescina, keep your evening flexible: village festivals have more charm when you don't arrive at a run, and Monte Amiata deserves to be given some room in the schedule.
