When does the Sagra del Marrone in Santa Fiora take place?

The Sagra del Marrone, also called Festa del Marrone Santafiorese, takes place this year on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October 2026, at Santa Fiora, on Mount Amiata. The dates can change from one year to the next: if you are planning a stay for another season, it is better to check the corresponding calendar rather than automatically assume this weekend.

The Saturday, the food stalls open at 12:30 pm, Piazza Garibaldi, with dishes made from chestnuts. A guided tasting of IGP chestnuts and local wines is announced at 18 h 30. Le Sunday, the stalls also reopen at 12 h 30. On both days, you can also visit the markets of local products and crafts, via Roma, or take part in the harvest in the chestnut grove of via della Peschiera. The detailed times of the activities may vary depending on the program; for the tasting, check the arrangements before you go.

The chestnut gives this festival a true scent of the Amiata autumn; keep some time to stroll around, rather than rushing from one event to the next!
