How to access the primary forest of the Bosco dei Rocconi?

To visit the Bosco dei Rocconi, drive by car to the entrance of the WWF oasis on the SS 323, at kilometer 48, near Roccalbegna : access is by car only. From Grosseto, allow about 45 km. The last stretch, over about 4 km, is marked as damaged; drive carefully and check the road conditions before setting off.

Note, you cannot enter the oasis or walk its trails on your own: visits are with a WWF guide, by reservation. The oasis is announced as open on Saturday and Sunday, all year round, but occasional closures are possible. Call before hitting the road at 320 822 3972 to book and confirm the meeting point. The nature trail is about 3 km with 200 m of elevation gain ; plan on closed shoes.
