Where is the Bosco dei Rocconi located?

The Bosco dei Rocconi is located in the Inner Maremma, in southern Tuscany, in the province of Grosseto, near the village of Roccalbegna. The nature reserve extends across the municipalities of Roccalbegna and Semproniano, in the upper Albegna valley, along the river of the same name and the Rigo stream. Since Grosseto, allow about 45 km par la route.

To reach the WWF oasis, the address given is Strada Statale 323, km 49, in Roccalbegna. Access is by car; the last few kilometres include a track reported as being in poor condition, so it's best to check its state before setting off. Note that this is not a wood you can simply enter for a walk on your own: visits to the oasis are guided and by reservation. Call the WWF before travelling to confirm availability and access arrangements. The site is hilly and has trails: bring suitable shoes if you take part in a visit.

This is not the kind of stop to improvise between two visits: it's better to set aside a proper time slot in the day, so as not to turn back after coming all this way.
