How to get to the Saturnia hot springs, in Italy?

The simplest way to reach the Cascate del Mulino, Saturnia's natural pools, is to come by car: they are located on the SP10, between Saturnia and Montemerano, in the municipality of Manciano. From Rome, allow about 155 to 165 km and 2 h 15 to 2 h 30 of driving; from Florence, rather 185 to 190 km and near 3 hours. The last few kilometers use secondary roads: allow some extra time, especially on weekends or in summer. An unattended parking lot is located about 300 meters waterfalls.

Without a car, you can take the train to Grosseto, then look for a bus connection to Saturnia, sometimes with a change in Manciano. Services are limited and schedules vary depending on the day and season; check the round trip carefully before leaving, as a taxi may be needed for the last stretch. From the town of Saturnia, you still need to reach the waterfalls, which are not in the village center. Access to the natural pools is free ; do not confuse it with the nearby paid thermal park. In high season, arriving early also helps avoid parking difficulties.

The pools have that little power to make you forget the time: avoid squeezing Saturnia into an already busy day.
