How to access Forte delle Rocchette on foot?

On foot, you can reach the beach of Rocchette et voir le Forte delle Rocchette from the shore, but you cannot enter the fort: it is private. The simplest way is to reach the coastal area via Via Rio Palma, then continue on foot towards the beach. From Castiglione della Pescaia, allow about 6 km to the Rocchette; I do not recommend covering this distance along the road without checking the pedestrian route, as access is not a guaranteed continuous trail.

Once on the beach, the fort stands on the promontory. Do not take the paths or tracks that seem to lead directly up to it: some cross private properties, and access to the building is not allowed. You can therefore observe it from the outside from the public beach area, but not take an interior tour or count on a coastal path that would go around it. In summer, also expect the accesses and parking near Via Rio Palma to be crowded; it is better to arrive early and keep suitable shoes if you leave the sand for the rocky areas.
