How many kilometers is the tour of the Argentario?

The tour of theArgentario takes about 41 km via the road route that goes around the promontory, usually starting from Porto Santo Stefano. The exact distance can vary by a few kilometers depending on detours, the starting point, and the roads you choose.

Be careful, this is not a continuous and easy coastal road: some sections are narrow and winding, with climbs and descents. The full circuit may also include unpaved stretches; check the route before setting off if you are in a car or on a road bike. The Strada Panoramica runs along part of the coastline, but it is not enough on its own to complete the full tour. By car, allow time to drive leisurely and stop; by bike, the terrain makes the route considerably more demanding than the 41 km might suggest.
