How far is Arcidosso from the sea?

Arcidosso is located about 70 km from the sea by road : allow roughly 1 h 10 by car to reach Marina di Grosseto. To Castiglione della Pescaia, plan on around 80 km and about 1 h 20, depending on the route and traffic. As the crow flies, the coast is closer, at a little over 50 km, but the inland roads make the trip longer.

Arcidosso is a mountain village, on the slopes of the Monte Amiata : so this is not a stop where you can improvise a swim within a few minutes. For a day at the beach, the car is the most practical solution; by public transport, the trip is likely to be considerably less simple and longer. In summer, allow extra time, especially on weekends, as beach access and parking can slow down your arrival. In return, you can spend the day by the sea and then enjoy the cooler air of the inland area in the evening.
