Comment on noteThe wine
Let me guide you to a Tuscan gem, a rosé that embodies the freshness and delicacy of Bolgheri. This wine is an invitation to gentleness, a ray of sunshine in your glass, signed by a house whose name resonates with the history of Italian wine.
We are in Bolgheri, in the heart of Tenuta Guado al Tasso, property of the Marchesi Antinori, in the picturesque Castagneto Carducci. It is here, on these lands blessed by the Tuscan sun, that Scalabrone is born. This Bolgheri DOC Rosato is the fruit of a harmonious blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a touch of Syrah, grape varieties that flourish fully under this Mediterranean climate. The winemaking is carried out with precision: a short maceration of 2 to 4 hours, followed by gentle pressing and fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 16°C, in order to preserve all the liveliness of the aromas.
From the very first glance, this wine will seduce you with its pale pink colour, luminous and brilliantly clean. On the nose, you will discover a delicate and fruity bouquet, where ripe strawberry and white peach mingle with light floral nuances. A hint of citrus, notably pomegranate, brings a welcome touch of freshness. On the palate, Scalabrone reveals itself to be balanced, with a slender texture and a subtle sapidity that supports the fruit without ever masking it. The alcohol is perfectly integrated, and the finish, pleasantly dry, will leave you with a sensation of purity and lightness.
This rosé is a true gastronomic chameleon, ready to enhance your summer meals. I recommend it with seafood antipasti, a fresh salad with Mediterranean flavours, or light fish dishes. It will also pair wonderfully with fresh cheeses or flavourful but lightly structured preparations. Serve it well chilled, between 8 and 10 °C, in ample glasses so that it can express its full aromatic palette. It is a wine to be enjoyed young, to fully appreciate its vibrant freshness. Scalabrone is the ideal companion for informal lunches, aperitifs with friends and all those convivial moments when you are looking for a versatile, easy-drinking wine that will instantly transport you under the Tuscan sun.
