Comment on noteOur opinion
From Porto Ercole, this sailboat opens the way to the coves of the Argentario and the islands that dot this part of the Tuscan coast. I recommend it if you want to share the sailing with family or friends, with real space to sleep and live aboard. The rental is self-managed and the listing states that it can be sailed without a license.
This 2010 Bavaria 40 measures 12.35 meters and accommodates up to eight passengers. It has three cabins, eight berths and two bathrooms, according to the description. Its sail covers 84.50 m²; the engine delivers 30 hp. On board, the listed equipment includes an autopilot, GPS, depth sounder and VHF, as well as a dinghy with its outboard motor. For moments at anchor, you will find an outdoor shower, a boarding ladder, an outdoor table and a sunbathing area at the bow. Hot water, a 220 V outlet, oven and stove, refrigerator and electric windlass complete the list.
Setting off from Porto Ercole, you can sail along the Argentario promontory, choose a cove depending on the sea and set course, if conditions and available time allow, for Giglio or Giannutri. The listing does not set an itinerary: it is better to adapt the outing to the weather, your experience and the distances rather than trying to cover everything in one day. The boat is offered without a skipper; an optional skipper is mentioned at €120. Even if the rental is advertised as license-free, check the applicable formalities and the conditions for taking over the boat before booking.
The stated rate starts at €314 per day; final cleaning is announced at €60 extra. The tenants' rating is 3.97/5 from 22 reviews. With three cabins, this Bavaria is especially suitable for a small group that wants to spend time on board, and not just take a short outing. In summer, I advise you to book early and confirm the fees, availability and sailing conditions: this way you can prepare a getaway at your own pace around the Argentario.
