Which beaches of Monte Argentario are the most beautiful?

For a large, easy beach, choose la Feniglia or la Giannella ; for rocky coves and clear water, look instead at Cala del Gesso or Cala Grande. These are not the same kind of days: the first ones are sandy and more convenient, the second ones require more effort and self-sufficiency.

La Feniglia is a long sandy beach lined with a pine forest, near Porto Ercole: access is pleasant on foot or by bike, but plan to walk between the reserve entrance and your spot on the beach. La Giannella, on the other tombolo, is also sandy, with equipped areas and shallow waters; it is better suited if you are coming with children or want to avoid a descent on a trail. Both are very crowded in July and August: arrive early to park more easily.

For the scenery, Cala del Gesso has pebbles, no services and foot access that can be steep; bring good shoes, water and something to protect yourself from the sun. Cala Grande is another option for swimming and snorkeling: the access trail is about 500 meters, but the terrain is not ideal for everyone. Finally, Bagni di Domiziano offers a small beach that is easier to access and shallow waters. Outside peak summer, you will generally enjoy these spots with fewer people, weather permitting.

At the Argentario, it is better to choose a beach for your mood of the day than to want to collect them all: true luxury is laying down your towel without watching the clock.
