Where is the highest point of l'Argentario?

The highest point of theArgentario is here Punta Telegrafo, at 635 meters above sea level, in the southeastern part of the promontory, in Tuscany. It is not a summit by the sea: it lies in the vegetation-covered massif, near the Passionist convent. The name also refers to Monte Telegrafo, of which this peak forms the summit.

You can reach the area via hiking trails in the highlands, notably from the convent; some routes pass near the summit rather than following a simple walk to a developed viewpoint. The terrain can be uneven, so bring good shoes and water, especially in summer. On clear days, the views extend toward the coast and the islands of the Giglio and Giannutri, but visibility obviously depends on weather conditions.

If you are only looking for the highest point, remember then Punta Telegrafo, at 635 meters. To organize a hike, check the chosen route before setting out: distances and durations vary depending on the starting point, and not all roads on the Argentario provide direct access to the summit.

The Argentario has a lovely talent: you think of coves and swimming, then the heights come and steal the show. A great way to change scenery without leaving the promontory!
