What is the altitude of Punta Telegrafo?

The Punta Telegrafo rises to an altitude of 635 meters, , on the Monte Argentario, in the province of Grosseto. It is the highest point of the promontory. You may sometimes see a slightly different value, around 633 metersdepending on maps or sources; for the generally given altitude, remember 635 meters.

This is indeed its altitude above sea level, not a height measured from a nearby beach. The summit is located in the interior of the promontory, above the coast: Punta Telegrafo is therefore not a swimming spot, but a landmark of the terrain if you explore the Argentario. The presence of installations at the summit is also reported; don't necessarily expect to find a landscaped viewpoint as in a park.

This figure slightly changes the postcard image we have of the Argentario: behind the coves, there is also real terrain to explore. A detail that makes you want to look at the promontory in a way other than beach mode!
