Which phones are compatible with the eSIM?

eSIMs work on the iPhone XS, XS Max and XR or newer, the Google Pixel 4 or newer, as well as on several recent Samsung Galaxy from the S, Z series and certain A models. However, this isn't guaranteed for every device: compatibility can vary depending on the exact model, the country where it was sold, and the carrier.

Before buying an eSIM for your trip, check that your phone is déverrouillé and that the carrier you choose accepts your model. On iPhone, look for "Add an eSIM" in Settings, then Cellular Data; on Pixel, the option is in Settings, Network & Internet, then SIM. If you don't see this option, that doesn't always mean the phone is incompatible: check the model number with the manufacturer or your carrier. Versions intended for certain markets may differ, so the trade name alone isn't enough to tell.
