What are the best restaurants in Capalbio?

To choose among the best restaurants in Capalbio, first look at Il Frantoio for reinvented Tuscan cuisine, with meat and fish dishes and a vegan menu; it is located a few minutes from the village. In the centre, Trattoria al Pozzo is an option for more classic Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. Menus and prices can change according to the season, so check before booking.

If you prefer fish, Da Maria is right in front of the entrance to the historic centre, on the belvedere square; you will also find homemade dishes and meat specialities there. For a table more focused on the sea, La Dogana is about 9 km of Capalbio, on the Chiarone Scalo side: so plan on taking the car.

My practical advice: book, especially in summer and on weekends, and ask about the hours if you come in the off-season — some establishments reduce their opening days. For a typically Maremma meal, look on the menu for the pappardelle with wild boar, the ricotta tortelli or theacquacotta. Prices are rather mid-range to quite high depending on the place and the wine; check the daily menu to avoid surprises.

In Capalbio, I don't chase after "the best" table at any price: instead, choose the one that matches your evening mood, and let the meal take its time.
