What are the typical cancellation deadlines for a farm in Tuscany?

For a farm in Tuscany, generally expect free cancellation up to 7 to 30 days before arrival if you choose a flexible offer; however, conditions vary from one accommodation to another. With direct booking, some farms keep the deposit if you cancel within the 30 à 60 jours before the stay. There is no deadline common to all agriturismi: in high season, for an entire house or a long stay, conditions may be stricter.

Above all, check the exact deadline, the amount retained after that date and how the deposit is handled — often around 30 à 40 % under certain booking conditions. Also check whether the deadline is calculated according to local time and whether a change of dates counts as a cancellation. A "non-refundable" offer may return nothing, even if you notify well in advance. If your dates are not certain, compare the flexible rate with the non-refundable rate and ask for the conditions in writing before paying a deposit; travel insurance does not automatically cover a simple change of plans.

As long as your schedule is playing free-roaming wild boars, I would bet on flexibility: a few euros saved are not always worth a booking that locks you to specific dates.
