How far in advance should you book an agriturismo in Tuscany?

For a stay in July or August, book your agriturismo in Tuscany 4 to 6 months in advance ; aim for six months instead if you want a specific address, a pool, family accommodation or a spot near the sea in Maremma. By booking late, you can still find something, but you will have fewer options for location, comfort and dates.

For May, June, September or early October, généralement compte 2 à 3 mois. Spring weekends and public holidays can sell out faster than ordinary weeks. Off-season, or if you are flexible about the region and arrival days, a few weeks to 1 or 2 months may be enough; however, check the opening dates, as some agriturismi close for part of the winter.

Also check the conditions before paying a deposit: in summer, some accommodations require a minimum stay of 3 à 7 nuits, sometimes with arrival on Saturday. For a single night or a very short stay, the choice is therefore often more limited. If you are travelling in high season, it is better to book as soon as your dates are set rather than waiting for a possible price drop.

A little insider tip: check the actual distance to the villages and the sights you want to visit, because an address that looks close on the map can change the whole pace of your days.
