What is the most beautiful area of Follonica?

The most beautiful area of Follonica, in my opinion, is Pratoranieri, especially its northern end, around the beach of the Boschetto. There you'll find a long sandy beach, a pine forest just behind it, and a sea that's generally shallow near the shore: it's pleasant if you're coming with children or if you simply want to walk along the water's edge. The neighborhood is located about 5 km from the centre ; in the middle of summer, it's best to allow some extra time for the trip and parking.

The downside is that Pratoranieri is anything but an isolated cove: in July and Augustthe beach is busy, with beach establishments and water activities. For more peace and quiet, aim for the morning or late afternoon, or pick a free stretch of beach. If you prefer having shops and the promenade within easy reach, the central seafront is more convenient, but it feels more like a "seaside resort" and offers less of a sense of nature. So, for the scenery, I would choose Pratoranieri; for everyday convenience, the center.
