What to visit in Vulci in Tuscany?

In Vulci, first visit the remains of the Etruscan-Roman city, then the Castello della Badia and its museum: small clarification, Vulci is not in Tuscany but in the Latium, near the Tuscan border, in the Lazio Maremma. On the archaeological plateau, you can see in particular the forum, the Tempio Grande and traces of ancient dwellings. Allow about 18. 2 to 3 hours for the park and the walk to the laghetto del Pellicone, on the edge of the Fiora; the terrain is uneven, so wear suitable shoes. The park ticket is listed at 8 € for an adult.

The Ponte dell’Abbadia, also called the Devil's Bridge, spans the Fiora gorge near the medieval castle. The museum, housed in the castle, displays Etruscan and Roman objects from the site; allow about 45 minutes to 1 hour for its visit. As of the October 7, 2026, it is announced exceptionally closed until the October 15 : check its reopening before going. The adult price indicated is 5 €. Access to the park is mainly by car, and opening hours change with the season; in October, the announced opening is 9 am to 5 pm. Some tombs, including the François Tomb, can be visited by reservation: don't necessarily expect to enter spontaneously.

Vulci's little twist is that contrast between the great ancient stories and an almost wild gorge setting — a lovely change from the hilltop villages you often string together in Tuscany!
