When to visit Cala dei Santi at the Argentario?

To make the most of Cala dei Santi, aim for instead June or September : it is generally warm enough to go out to sea, without the peak of heat and crowds of July-August. In June, the water can still seem cool; in September, it is often more pleasant for swimming, but conditions change from one day to the next.

The cove is reached by the sea, not by a trail down to the shore. From Cala Galera or the area of Porto Ercole, allow about 10 minutes by boat ; since Porto Santo Stefano, rather around 55 minutes. The outing therefore depends more on the state of the sea and the wind than on the calendar: check the conditions with the renter or the organizer on the day itself, especially if the wind blows from the south, to which the cove is exposed. From May to early October, a visit can be attempted if the weather is favorable; in spring and autumn, simply expect a cooler sea and outings that are sometimes cancelled. This is not an easily accessible beach where you can settle in for the day: think of it rather as a boat stop, with swimming or diving if the sea allows it.

Keep Cala dei Santi as a lovely detour on an outing around the Argentario, rather than as the sole goal of the day: the best plans at sea always leave a little room for the unexpected!
