Where are the Saturnia thermal waterfalls located?

The Saturnia thermal waterfalls, called Cascate del Mulino, are located in the Tuscan Maremma, in the municipality of Manciano, province of Grosseto. They are on the edge of the provincial road SP10, between the village of Saturnia et celui de Montemerano, a few kilometers from the center of Saturnia. To find them on a GPS, enter Via della Follonata, Saturnia.

On site, the hot water forms natural tiered pools near an old mill. It comes out at about 37.5 °C, and swimming in the waterfalls is free : it is not the same place as the paid Terme di Saturnia thermal park, located nearby. Bring shoes that hold well on your feet, as the rocks can be slippery, and a towel. The site can be visited all year round, but in summer and on weekends, it can be very crowded; coming early helps avoid the busiest hours.

The charm of the Cascate del Mulino lies in this contrast between wild scenery and the feel of an ancient bath: Maremma seems to have built its own spa, without marble or bathrobes!
