Where is Le Dune beach in Follonica?

La plage Le Dune is located in the area of Pratoranieri, au nord de Follonica, le long de Viale Italia, facing the gulf. So it is not the town-center beach: from the heart of Follonica, allow about 4 km, depending on your starting point. The name may also refer to a beach establishment or a seaside residence; check the exact location on your GPS before setting off.

By car, follow the signs for Pratoranieri and Viale Italia; in summer, allow some time to find a spot, as the area can be busy. From the Follonica train station, you can reach the seaside on foot or by bike; allow about 3 to 4 km to this part of the coast, i.e. around 40 to 50 minutes on foot depending on the access chosen. The cycle path and the seafront make the journey easier, but if you have luggage or are traveling with young children, a bike or a taxi will be more convenient. On site, you will find stretches of free beach and equipped establishments; the exact access depends on where you want to lay your towel.
