Where to stay cheaper than Saturnia in Maremma?

To pay less than in Saturnia, first look at bed and breakfasts and agriturismi in Manciano or Poggio Murella, rather than the spa hotels of the thermal village. Manciano is located about 14 to 15 km of Saturnia, i.e. around 20 minutes by car ; you will find accommodation in the town centre as well as in the countryside. Prices vary a lot depending on the dates: in summer and on weekends, the gap can narrow, so compare the total price and not just the nightly rate.

Montemerano, about 8 km, is closer and convenient for the baths, but its small centre is not necessarily the cheapest option. To have more choice, also try Pitigliano, about 25 à 30 km of Saturnia, or Sorano ; then allow for more driving to reach the springs. If you want to enjoy the thermal baths early in the morning or return in the evening, Manciano is often a more convenient compromise than these two towns. In any case, a car is almost essential: the cheapest accommodations are sometimes isolated, and there is not always a restaurant within walking distance.
