Where to sleep near the Maremma natural park?

To visit the Maremma Natural Park, look for accommodation first in Alberese : the visitor center and one of the park's main entrances are located in the village. You'll mostly find there rooms, small lodgings and rural agritourism farms. Rispescia, a few kilometers away, also offers rural stays, but check the exact distance to your trailhead: sleeping "near the park" doesn't always mean you can walk there.

If you prefer the southern area, look towards Talamone, where another visitor center is located. It's less convenient to reach Marina di Alberese, the beach north of the park. Grosseto, about 15 km from Alberese, offers more shops and a wider range of accommodation, but a car makes it easier to travel between the town, the entrances and the trails. From Grosseto train station, a bus goes to Alberese; connections to the beach may depend on the season and current schedules. In summer, book early if you want a specific agriturismo: availability can become limited, and rates vary greatly depending on the period and type of lodging.

A little wild boar dilemma: the agriturismo to wake up in peace and quiet, Grosseto for improvising more easily in the evening — choose according to the atmosphere you want to come back to after your walks.
