Are the Petriolo hot springs accessible at night?

The free natural pools of Petriolo are generally accessible at night, but this is not an officially guaranteed 24/7 access: they are neither fenced nor supervised. Do not confuse these pools by the river with the paid pools of the thermal facility, which close in the late afternoon; their posted hours are 9 h à 17 h 30.

At night, the main concern is safety: the area is dark, the ground and stones can be slippery, and you have neither a lifeguard nor services on site. If you go anyway, avoid going alone, take a lamp and shoes that hold well on your feet, and don't count on the surroundings to change comfortably. The water of the spring is close to 43 °C ; stay only a short time in the hottest pools, get out if you feel weak or dizzy, and drink water. In case of heart problems or pregnancy, seek medical advice before a very hot bath. In practice, the evening may be possible for the free pools, but it is not a developed or supervised night swim.

At Petriolo, dusk seems to me the best compromise: you enjoy the atmosphere without turning the swim into a groping expedition.
