How long is the walk to the Farma gorges?

To get to the Canaloni du Farma from the last parking spot on the track, allow about 15 to 30 minutes of walking each way : the trail is short, but the terrain near the river can be uneven and slippery. If you leave the car at the bridge, before the track, you also need to cover about 4 km on the dirt road each way, which adds around1 hour to 1 hour 30 of walking in total.

So it mostly depends on your starting point. For a real loop hike from Scalvaia, plan on rather 3 h 30 to 6 h for approximately 12 km, depending on your pace and the time spent by the water; some group itineraries count the whole day with breaks. The accesses are not equivalent: the short route leads to the gorges, while the Scalvaia loop is a hike with elevation gain. In any case, wear shoes with good grip, as the banks of the stream can be slippery.

At the Canaloni, it's better to keep some extra time to stroll by the water: this getaway is best savored when you don't time it.
