Choose an agriturismo if you have a car and want to sleep in peace, with more space; go for an hotel if you prioritize services, easy meals and a stay without organization. In Maremma, the agriturismo is not always a farm with a restaurant: check whether breakfast and dinner are offered, as well as the opening days. Some places also impose a minimum stay, especially in summer.
To visit the Maremma Park, an agriturismo nearAlberese is convenient; the village is located about 15 km from Grosseto, but the beach and the various hiking trailheads are not necessarily right next to your accommodation. As an order of magnitude, an address in Alberese lists a room at 60 € per night in low season in 2026; this rate does not represent the whole region, and prices rise in summer. A hotel by the sea can save you time for walking outings, but cost more in high season.
My advice: for a week, with visits to the countryside and meals on site, choose the agriturismo, checking the distances and included fees. For two or three nights, without a car or with flexible schedules, the hotel will generally be simpler. In July and August, book early and ask for the total price, the cancellation conditions, and whether air conditioning is included.
