What are the Terme di Sorano good for?

The Thermal Baths of Sorano They are mainly made for relaxing in warm water, enjoying the hydromassages and taking a swim break, rather than for a beach day or a medical spa treatment. The water, rich in minerals, comes out of the spring at 37,4 °C and the large pool is kept at around 36 °C. You will find seats and jets for the back and neck; part of the pool is covered in the cold season. The site also includes the Bagno dei Frati, a small historic pool, and a sports pool open only part of the year.

It is a convenient option if you are visiting the tuff villages of the area and want to unwind for a few hours, including when the weather is cool. On the other hand, it is not a wild spring where you swim for free: access is through a developed facility, with a lounger generally included in the ticket. Depending on the period and the day, plan for about 18 to 24 € per adult for a day entry; afternoon entry costs less. Booking is indicated as mandatory and a swim cap is required. The water can be pleasant for relaxing, but do not count on the dermatological care promises as a medical treatment: if you have a health problem, seek advice from a professional.

After the narrow streets of Sorano and Pitigliano, the thermal baths make a lovely counterpoint: here, the best plan is to slow down rather than tick off one more visit.
