When to go to the Terme di Sorano?

The best compromise is May-June or September : you enjoy the pools and the outdoors without the heat or the crowds of mid-summer. The large thermal pool, fed by water at around 36 °C, is accessible throughout the opening period; part of it can be covered in autumn and winter. However, the sports pool is seasonal, generally open from May to September.

In July and August, choose a weekday instead and arrive early if you want to settle in quietly: the site can be busy, and the sun beats down on the outdoor areas. Winter works if you are mainly looking for hot baths, but the experience is less geared towards sunbathing; in February and March, the facility announces limited opening to weekends, from Friday to Sunday. As a guideline, adult admission is around 18 € in winter and 20 to 24 € in the summer season, depending on the day; prices may change. Booking is mandatory and a swim cap is required. Check the opening hours and pool availability before you go, especially in the off-season.

I would keep the Terme di Sorano as a break after a day of walking: going from the stone alleys to the pools is a lovely change of pace.
