Comment on noteThe wine
Imagine yourself immersed in the heart of Tuscany, where the vine flourishes under a generous sun. It is from this terroir that Camartina is born, a wine that embodies complexity and finesse, a true gem that I can't wait for you to discover.
The Querciabella estate, located in Greve in Chianti, is a pioneer of organic and biodynamic farming in Tuscany. Their philosophy is simple: respect the land to get the best from it, without artifice. Camartina, whose first year of production dates back to 1981, is the fruit of this rigorous approach, an authentic expression of the Tuscan terroir.
This Toscana Rosso IGT is a harmonious blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Sangiovese, grapes hand-picked with the greatest care. The 2000 vintage, after fermentation in steel tanks, benefited from 12 to 18 months of wood aging, giving it remarkable depth and complexity. In your glass, you will discover an intense ruby red color, tending towards garnet with time. On the nose, aromas of ripe red fruits mingle with spicy and balsamic notes, with a touch of vanilla subtly brought by the aging. On the palate, this wine is remarkably balanced, with well-integrated tannins and a long, pleasant aromatic persistence.
To fully appreciate this Camartina 2000, I recommend decanting it at least an hour before serving, at an ideal temperature of 18°C. It will pair wonderfully with rich, structured dishes. Imagine it alongside a red meat roast, a flavorful game dish or a platter of aged cheeses. It's the kind of wine that transforms a simple meal into a true culinary experience.
This wine is more than a drink, it's an invitation to travel, a testament to Querciabella's know-how and the richness of the Tuscan terroir. A bottle to keep, which will continue to evolve and surprise you year after year, for memorable tasting moments.
