Ciliegiolo

Ciliegiolo

Ciliegiolo is that local grape variety that gives its name to a light, fruity red wine, typical of Maremma. When you taste it, you sense notes of cherry – hence its name, "ciliegia" meaning cherry in Italian. It is often blended with Sangiovese to soften its character, but you also find it as a single varietal. It is an easy-drinking wine, perfect to accompany the local cuisine, from pasta to charcuterie. If you are looking for an authentic experience and a taste of the region, do not miss a glass of Ciliegiolo. It tells you the story of the terroir.
