What are the benefits of Petriolo's water?

The water of Petriolo is mainly sought after for the relaxation and warmth of its baths: it springs at around 43 °C and notably contains sulphur, responsible for its distinctive smell. The baths can provide a feeling of muscle or joint relaxation and comfort. In spa facilities, treatments based on this water are also offered for certain conditions of the skin, respiratory tract and musculoskeletal system, but their effects depend on the problem being treated and are not guaranteed by a simple bath.

In the natural pools near the Farma stream, the hot water mixes with the water of the stream: the temperature therefore varies from one pool to another. These are wellness baths, not a medical treatment, and the water is not for drinking. The heat can be tiring or risky in case of heart or circulatory problems, pregnancy, fever or chronic illness; if that is your case, ask your doctor's advice before bathing. If you feel unwell, get out of the water. The smell of sulphur is normal, but it does not indicate the sanitary quality of the pool.

At Petriolo, don't look for the "perfect" pool: choose the one where you can truly unwind and let time slow down.
