« Pineta di Toscana " does not refer to a single forest: pineta simply means pine grove, and the Tuscan coast has several. In Maremma, the name may particularly bring to mind the Pineta Granducale, in the Maremma Natural Park, near Alberese. This pine grove of about 600 hectares was planted in the 19the century, at the time of the great land reclamation works in the region.
You will find shaded paths between the pines, the dunes and the Mediterranean vegetation; it is not a developed beach nor a forest with a single access point. Depending on the route chosen, the walk can extend towards the coastline, but access to certain park trails is regulated and conditions vary by season. In summer, the shade is welcome, but plan to bring water and check the access arrangements before setting off. If you saw "Pineta di Toscana" on a map or in an itinerary, send me the name of the village or the link indicated: I can tell you which pine grove it is.
