What is the best neighborhood in Grosseto?

For a stay in Grosseto, choose the historic center, inside the walls : you'll be near the Duomo, Piazza Dante and the restaurants, and you can explore the city on foot. The ramparts form a circuit of about 3 km. The train station is just north of the old center; allow about 10 to 15 minutes on foot depending on the address. To spot the sights and neighborhoods, also check our guide to Grosseto.

If you're coming by car, look near the ramparts rather than in the heart of the old streets: parking can be less convenient in the center, and check access rules before booking accommodation with parking. For the beach, however, Grosseto is not on the coast: Marina di Grosseto is about 15 km away, i.e. around 20 minutes by car, depending on traffic. If your stay is mainly for the seaside, stay in Marina; if you want to visit the city and explore the Maremma, the historic center is a more convenient choice. In summer, book early, especially for Marina, where demand rises during the holidays.
