When is the market held in Massa Marittima?

The weekly market of Massa Marittima takes place on Wednesday morning, or at the Parco di Poggio, generally from from 8 am to about 1 pm. It is therefore not held on the cathedral square, in the historic centre. If you want to enjoy it before the stalls are taken down, it's best not to arrive in the late morning.

Opening hours may vary, especially when a public holiday or a local event disrupts the organisation; if you are planning your visit around a specific date, check locally before you go. On Wednesdays, you can also combine the market with a stroll through the medieval centre, which can be explored on foot. You will find other pointers for organising your visit on the page dedicated to Massa Marittima.

Keep some time to wander around afterwards: in Massa Marittima, the market makes a good appetiser, not the main course!
