Where can I go horseback riding in Maremma?

You can go horseback riding in Alberese, in the Maremma Park, at Marina di Grosseto and in the hinterland, towards Saturnia or Massa Marittima. For an outing in the park's landscapes — pine groves, maquis and beach — the Collelungo trail is reserved for experienced riders: allow 6 heures and 22 à 29 km. Booking and a guide are mandatory, and the park ticket is listed at 15 €, excluding the guide. In summer, the route is shorter and the beach section changes.

If you're a beginner, look at Cieloverde, near Marina di Grosseto: a group outing of 2 hours, suitable for novices, is listed at 60 € per person. You must be at least 14 ans ; helmet provided, booking required. At Saturnia, the Il Capannone agritourism also offers rides and treks, but rates and availability must be requested directly. Same at the equestrian center of the Tenuta del Fontino, near Massa Marittima, which advertises outings of1 ou 2 heures. In any case, book in advance and specify your level: not all beach or park rides are open to beginners.
