Guided tour Massa Marittima mines opening hours

In October 2026, the Museo della Miniera Massa Marittima is open for visits from Friday to Sunday, with reception hours from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 pm to 3:30 pm. The tour of the galleries is only with a guide: book your spot, especially if you have a specific time in mind, by calling +39 0566 906525 or writing to accoglienzamuseimassa@gmail.com. On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the museum is closed in October.

Allow about 45 minutes for the underground route, which is nearly 700 meters. Guided tours are in Italian, but audio guides are available in French. The ticket costs 8 € full price and 6 € reduced rate. Bring a jacket: it is around 12 °C in the galleries. From November, the hours change: the museum opens on Saturday and Sunday, generally from 11 am to 1 pm then from 2 pm to 4 pm; check the time slots when booking.
