How to access the Torre di Capo d'Uomo?

To reach the Torre di Capo d'Uomo, drive to the trailhead on the The Argentario Strada Panoramica, above Porto Santo Stefano : from the village, turn left at the first roundabout, then follow the scenic road to the small pass, about 5.8 km. You will find a modest space to park, with no real facilities or clearly visible sign. The tower is not accessible by car: the last part is done on foot.

From the pass, spot the trail that starts opposite the parking area and follow the ridge towards the Poggio Fornacelle, then the tower, visible in the distance. Allow about 25 to 30 minutes of walking one way, and roughly the same to come back. The trail is stony, climbs and has exposed sections without protection; wear shoes with grippy soles and bring water. This is not an access suitable for strollers, wheelchairs or people uncomfortable on uneven ground. The tower is in ruins: the visit mainly consists of reaching the promontory, not touring a developed monument.
