How long does the e-bike loop between Orbetello and Porto Ercole take?

The e-bike loop between Orbetello and Porto Ercole takes about 3 hours to cover its roughly 29 km. This is an estimate for the full bike ride, not just the one-way trip to the village: the route notably passes through the reserve of the Feniglia, then reaches Porto Ercole before heading back to Orbetello.

Plan on 3 h 30 à 4 h if you want to stop in the village, look at the fortifications or take a break. The electric assist helps on the climbs, but it doesn't eliminate the time spent at stops, and the duration varies depending on your pace and the condition of the route. Don't confuse it with the big panoramic tour around the Argentario promontory: that one is about 43 km and takes rather 5 à 6 heures. For the Orbetello–Porto Ercole loop, allow half a day if you want to do it without rushing.

My bit of boar wisdom: don't treat the Feniglia as a mere corridor between two stops — sometimes it's by slowing down that a ride takes on all its charm.
