How far is Capalbio from the sea?

From the center of the village of Capalbio, allow about 10 to 12 km to the sea, depending on the beach chosen, i.e. generally 15 to 20 minutes by car. The village is perched inland: it does not directly overlook the coast. To locate the village, you can also check my page on Capalbio.

The closest access points are on the side of Macchiatonda and Chiarone, where you will find some developed beach sections and others that are freer. In summer, allow a bit more time if you go during peak hours: traffic and parking near the shore can slow down your arrival. Off-season, the trip is often easier, but some beach services may be closed. On foot from the village, it is not a practical outing; it is better to have a car or check in advance the transport options available from Capalbio Scalo, which is closer to the coast.

The contrast is lovely: you go from perched alleyways to the marine horizon, as if you were changing your getaway in the middle of the day. I would keep Capalbio for strolling and the coast for a big breath of fresh air!
