What is the distance between Capalbio and the sea?

From the historic center of Capalbio, the sea is about 6 km as the crow flies, but plan on rather 13 km by road to reach the beach of the Chiarone, near the Ultima Spiaggia. By car, the trip generally takes around 15 minutes, depending on traffic. The medieval village is perched in the hills: so you cannot walk down to the beach in a few minutes. If you want to locate the village and its surroundings, here is the page about Capalbio.

The coastline of the municipality stretches over about 12 km, with several areas, including Macchiatonda and Chiarone. The exact distance depends on the beach chosen and its access: check the route to the parking lot or the beach establishment, not just to the coast on a map. The seaside access points are spread out and the parking lots are not very large; in the height of summer, leaving early can save you from searching for a spot. In short: Capalbio is close to the sea by car, but the village and the beaches are indeed two distinct stages.

The trap is believing that a perched village announces a swim at the end of the alley: keep Capalbio for the stroll and the beach for a second stop. In summer, this duo is best enjoyed by leaving early rather than improvising at noon.
