Bianco di Pitigliano is the emblematic local white wine of southern Maremma, and the first Italian wine to obtain DOC status in 1966. If you see it on a menu, it's a fresh, light table wine, perfect to accompany the fish of the Argentario or the soft cheeses of the region. You'll find it mainly around Pitigliano, Sovana and Sorano. It's a blend of trebbiano toscano, grechetto and malvasia, offering floral notes and a slight bitterness on the finish. A good choice for discovering the flavors of the terroir without breaking the bank.
