Four landmarks before renting in Italy
Most rental companies block the deposit on a credit card. With a debit card, filter for “No deposit” or choose a company that accepts it: this is stated in the offer's conditions.
Without an option, you often pay 1,000 to 2,000 € in case of damage. The “Zero excess included” filter shows offers already covered; otherwise, excess insurance bought separately costs less than at the counter.
A counter in the terminal saves you 20 to 40 minutes compared with a shuttle, especially in the evening. The “Pick-up” filter separates them.
Choose “full to full”, avoid the limited traffic zones (ZTL) in historic centers, which send fines months later, and keep some change for tolls.
