Comment on noteOur opinion
I'm sharing this address with you, Casale La Rovere, a B&B located in Montalto di Castro, in the province of Viterbo. It's not in Tuscany as one might think, but very close to Maremma, on the Lazio side. It's a small establishment, more of a Bed & Breakfast than a large hotel, which relies on a simple and welcoming atmosphere.
Casale La Rovere is located precisely at Via dell'Arcipretura in Montalto di Castro. It's a 1-star establishment, so expect simple but functional standards. You'll find an outdoor pool, ideal for cooling off. Breakfast is included and is often described as consisting of homemade local specialties. Conveniently, parking is free and Wi-Fi is available. If you're traveling with your four-legged companion, note that pets are allowed. All rooms are air-conditioned.
The location is interesting if you're looking to explore the coast. The beaches of Pescia Romana, notably Marina di Pescia, are about 10 to 15 minutes away by car. It's also a good starting point for visiting the archaeological park of Vulci, about twenty minutes away, or the site of Tarquinia and its Etruscan tombs, about 30 minutes away. The Tarot Garden of Niki de Saint Phalle is also an option, about fifteen minutes away.
This B&B is an option if you're looking for an unpretentious base, with a budget between €200 and €350 per night, to explore this part of the coast between Lazio and Maremma. It's perfect if you prioritize proximity to the beaches and archaeological sites, without seeking the luxury of a large hotel, and if you appreciate an included breakfast to start the day off right.
