Collelungo is located in the Maremma natural park, on the coast of the province of Grosseto, in southern Tuscany. This name refers mainly to the Collelungo beach and the tower overlooking it, in the Monti dell'Uccellina area. The most convenient starting point is Alberese, inland, or the Marina di Alberese area, by the sea. It is not a village to visit with a center and shops: it is a natural place in a protected area.
From Alberese, you reach the beach on foot or by bike via the park's trails; allow about 7 km by bike , via the Strada degli Ulivi route, depending on the starting point. Access by car goes through the Marina di Alberese road, then you must continue on foot or by bike depending on the authorized route and current conditions. Access arrangements may vary by season: check the park's guidelines before setting off, especially in summer. On site, do not count on beach establishments or services as in a seaside resort; bring water and something to protect yourself from the sun.
