What wine-related activities can you do near Grosseto?

Near Grosseto, you can visit a cellar, walk through the vineyards and compare the reds of Morellino di Scansano: Podere Castellaccia, in the municipality of Grosseto, is the closest option for combining a walk through the vineyards and olive groves, a cellar tour and a tasting. Allow about 1 hour to taste three wines with local products; the packages on offer are around 20 to 25 € per person, with a minimum of six participants. You must book, and time slots may vary.

For an outing in the hills, head to Scansano, about 30 km from Grosseto — around 35 to 45 minutes by car. At the Cantina dei Vignaioli del Morellino, you can take a guided tour followed by a tasting of several cuvées, sometimes accompanied by local products; allow about 1 hour and check the price when booking. At Poggio La Luna, the more complete package includes a stroll through the vineyards if the weather allows, then the cellar and four wines; count 18. 2 to 3 hours for tastings with a meal, by reservation.

If you prefer to avoid tours, the wine bars in Scansano also offer tastings by the glass with charcuterie and pecorino. In summer and during the harvest, book in advance; in the off-season, confirm the times directly with the estate.

Keep some slack after the tasting: in these hills, the best plan is not to watch the clock every five minutes.
