What are the best campsites in Scarlino in Tuscany?

À Scarlino, first look at the Camping Piper if you want to sleep by the sea, the Vallicella Glamping Resort for the pool and glamping-style accommodations, and Il Fontino for a quieter stay in the hills. The right choice mainly depends on your priority: beach within walking distance or a more countryside atmosphere.

At Piper, in Puntone, you will find shaded pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, as well as bungalows. The beach is accessible from the campsite; the sand and shallow waters are convenient with children. In return, the entertainment and on-site services can make the place less peaceful in high season. Vallicella is on a hill, with a pool and leisure facilities: the beaches are about 7 kmaway, so a car is useful. It's a good option if you prefer the pool and a well-equipped accommodation rather than direct access to the sand.

Il Fontino, near the medieval village, offers shaded pitches and chalets in a green setting, with a pool. The Gulf of Follonica can be reached within a few kilometres, but plan to travel there too for the beach. Rates vary depending on dates, pitch type and accommodation; in July-August, compare early and check the opening dates directly, as they are seasonal.

My little boar's advice: first choose the pace of your days, then the setting — a beautiful pool doesn't necessarily make up for the travel if your dream is to dash off to the beach.
