What makes Tenuta Le Mandorlaie special?

The specialty of Tenuta Le Mandorlaie, near Scansano, is to combine a small wine production with that of an organic extra-virgin olive oil, on a farm run organically.

The oil is sold under the designation IGP Toscano, in addition to its organic certification. The estate's gastronomic appeal therefore lies mainly in the direct connection between the products and their place of production, rather than in a wide range of wines or a restaurant experience. You can buy the bottles on site, but it is better to make an appointment before coming; private wine and oil tastings are offered, with no clearly posted tasting fee. As an indication, the bottles of Capricci were priced around 21 to 24 € depending on the vintage; check the price at the time of your visit, as it may change.

The wine-and-oil duo is two ways of reading the same landscape — far more telling than a long row of identical bottles!
